Senator Doug Smith to Hold Constituent Office Hours

AUGUSTA – Senator Doug Smith, of Dover-Foxcroft, will be holding constituent office hours on Friday, April 20th.  Members of the public are encouraged to visit the Town of Patten recreation building, at 12 Founders Street, between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m., or the court room of the Milinocket municipal building, at 207 Penobscot Avenue, between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m., to voice their concerns and opinions, and engage in meaningful discussions about state government.

Although attendees are encouraged to bring up any topics of concern, Sen. Smith is particularly interested in hearing the opinions of his constituents regarding tax relief, healthcare costs and education consolidation.

Sen. Smith is looking forward to the events, and welcomes the opportunity to hear from his constituents.  “I am happy to provide the public with an opportunity to voice their thoughts and opinions, and I know the experience will be very valuable,” he said.  “Legislators serve because the people in our districts have trusted us, and I want to show them that I am listening to their concerns and fighting hard for them down in Augusta.”

Sen. Doug Smith represents Senate District 27, which includes all of Piscataquis County and parts of Penobscot and Somerset Counties.  He can be reached in Augusta at 287-1505, or by e-mail at dsmith@kynd.net.
