Senator Kevin Raye Announces College Goal Sunday Program
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
JANUARY 12, 2007
College Goal Sunday is a statewide volunteer program coordinated by the Finance Authority
of Maine (FAME) that provides free information and assistance to students and
families who are applying for financial aid for post secondary education. The workshop also provides assistance to college
bound students preparing their FAFSA, the document required to receive all
state and federal college financing.
FAME is hosting College Goal Sunday, a free financial
aid workshop, at multiple locations throughout the state, and Senator Raye
would like to encourage all college bound residents and their families to visit
Washington County Community College in Calais, or Kimball Hall Portside at the
University of Maine at Machias to have all the
questions answered.
At each site, FAME will
provide coaching staff to walk individuals through the application line-by-line
and to answer questions regarding state and federal financial aid
programs. All attendees should bring
copies of their most recent tax information.
Further information about College Goal Sunday is also available at
www.collegegoalsundaymaine.com, or by calling FAME at 1-800-228-3734 or
e-mailing them at education@famemaine.com.
