The Government Oversight Committee has oversight responsibility for the Office of Program Evaluation and Government Accountability (OPEGA), which is charged with reviewing the effectiveness and accountability of state departments and agencies.

am pleased to return to my position on the Government Oversight Committee,"
said Raye. “We have begun the overdue process
of increasing accountability in state government.
While other legislative committees are controlled by the majority party, the 12-member Government Oversight Committee was specifically established to consist of six senators and six representatives, equally divided between the two political parties.
The full membership of the new Government Oversight Committee is as follows:

Raye was re-elected to a second
term in the Maine Senate on November 7th, capturing 59% of the vote
in a four-way race. He represents Senate
District 29, which is comprised of
