Debra Plowman Begins Second Term in
State Senate

On Wednesday, December 6, the 123rd Legislature officially began, when Governor John Baldacci swore all Maine State Senators and Representatives into office. Among those who assumed office that day was Republican Senator Debra Plowman.
Representing District #33, Plowman, of Hampden, serves the people of Carmel, Charleston, Corinna, Corinth, Dexter, Dixmont, Etna, Exeter, Garland, Glenburn, Hampden, Kenduskeag, Levant, Newburgh, Newport, Plymouth and Stetson in Penobscot County.
Plowman, beginning her second term in the State Senate,
defeated Democrat challenger Mary Poulin on Election Day. Her victory helped the Republicans increase
their margin in the Senate. With 17
seats, Republicans are poised to work alongside the Democrats to advance a
truly bipartisan agenda for the State of
