Jonathan Courtney Begins Second Term in State Senate

FOR IMMERDIATE RELEASE

DECEMBER 12, 2006

On Wednesday, December 6, the 123rd Legislature officially began, when Governor John Baldacci swore all Maine State Senators and Representatives into office.  Among those who assumed office that day was Republican Senator Jonathan Courtney.

Representing District #3, Courtney, of York County, serves the people of Alfred, Limington, Lyman, Sanford/Springvale and Waterboro.

Courtney is beginning his second term as a State Senator.  His victory on Election Day helped the Republicans increase their margin in the Senate.  With 17 seats, Republicans are poised to work alongside the Democrats to advance a truly bipartisan agenda for the State of Maine.

“I am truly honored that the people of District #3 have re-elected me to represent them in the Senate,” Courtney said.  “I look forward to continue working for my constituents, and encourage them to come to me with any questions or concerns they may have.  The opportunity to give back to my community, and work for the changes that our state needs is one I will never take for granted.”

Senator Courtney can be reached by calling the Senate Republican office at 287-1505, or by calling 324-5467, or e-mailing joncourtney@metrocast.net.
